Building a Business for Certified Family Child Care
Accepting Applications now.
Distance/In-Person Cohort: We are seeking a diverse group of participants
with a range of experience and education from the following 3 areas:
Portland, Pendleton and Ontario. Training will be conducted in English and
textbooks are in English, but supplemental handouts and coaching support
is available in Spanish in Ontario. Applications are screened for
admission to the 8-10 spaces at each location. You MUST be an
Owner/Operator of Certified Family Child Care, staff of a Certified Family
Child Care or a Registered Family Child Care Provider. You must be at Step
3 or higher on the Oregon Registry. Training is scheduled on 10 Saturdays
from September 2017, through April 2018 (no dates in December -- see below).
Scholarships are available to cover all but $200. Limited stipends for
mileage (over 50 miles) and lodging for those over 100 miles are
available. Coaching to help you achieve the course outcomes is provided.
May also be taken for college credit.

The training would be delivered by a “gotomeeting” webinar format with the trainer and one coaching group at AFSCME in Portland, another coach and group at AFSCME in Pendleton, and a third coach and group at AFSCME in Ontario.
